Air-Conditioning - Size Calculator

To calculate the correct size of air-conditioner to purchase use the following 'Rule of thumb' calculation:-

Calculate the square meterage of the room

Length x Width = Total Square Meters

Total Square Meters x 140 watts  = Size of Air Conditioner (round up is advisable)

For example

4 x 3 = 12 meters

12 x 140 = 1680 watts

Therefore a 2000 watt or 2.0kW unit would be perfect

Ducted Reverse Cycle

For ducted reverse cycle systems we factor in about 70% of the total square meterage including the halls, excluding the wet areas. When zones are installed this sizing method works well in worst case scenarios.

Be aware of people quoting a 'cheaper' system by undersizing the unit to 50%
